eggy craft

Using scrapbook paper and ribbon, I made this fun little egg decor. I used my Cricut to cut out the egg shapes, and letters to spell out 'happy easter.' I inked the edges of the eggs and hole punched two holes in each one to attach them together with ribbon. I added little flowers and bunny ears to some.

Easter Centerpiece

I saw this Centerpiece and thought it would be fun to make with fake or real colored eggs.  This is from bhg.com.  I love it.   Instructions here.

Easter Treat

So this is how you make it:

First make Rice Krispy Treats and add green food coloring to the marshmallows  before you pour in the Rice Krispies.
Then take your Rice Krispy Treat and form it into a nest shape in a cupcake cup.
Add some jelly beans and a Peep on top.

We made these for my daughter's Kindergarten Spring Party and they were a hit.

Spring Rosette Balls

I saw this on Studio 5 the other day.  Being obsessed with flowers and rosettes, I had to try it.  I bought 3 styrofoam balls from Walmart in the kids crafts section.  (2 small for $3.50 or one big for $3.50).  I got a foam wreath from Dollar Tree and some Crepe Streamers from both places.  Each project took about one roll of crepe streamers.  You cut a whole bunch of about 24" pieces and crinkle them.  To make your flowers, you start at one end and twist and roll, twist and roll, adding some hot glue here and there.  (I liked mine nice and flat as opposed to the ones on the tutorial below.).  Don't worry about too much gluing because once you are ready to apply it to the ball, you put a lot of hot glue on the ball which will adhere it to the ball as well as hold the flower together.  You will go thru a lot of glue sticks!  It's kind of time consuming, but really fun.  Each project took less than an hour.  To attach the ribbon, you pin it into the ball.  I also added some fun corsage pins to my wreath in the centers of the rosettes.  Sometime I will make these for my daughter's room.

Easter Decorating Ideas

These are just some simple Easter decorating ideas.

  • The hanging eggs are sparkly styro-foam eggs that I got at a craft store for 1-2 dollars, and I tied fun ribbons to them and hung them above our stair railing.

  • The egg wreath is a swag of eggs that I coiled in a circle and hung onto a plain wreath.

  • The vase of eggs is just a big round vase filled with decorating speckled eggs.

Duct Tape Roses

How Cute are These?  I can't wait to try this.  Did you know you can buy all kinds of colors and designs of  duct tape now?  Yesterday at Joann's I saw the cutest lime green flourish tape.  Don't be suprised if put these on all the pens in my house and make a pen bouquet.  My husband will love that!
