animal print!

Next week is my son's 2nd birthday. The party theme is Jungle Jeep Safari. So, I made him a bib to wear out of brown zebra fabric from hobby lobby. I put turquoise on the back and made it a little bigger than the front so it shows around the edges. Then, I decided since we will be having a little BBQ, I needed a cute apron to wear...

I didn't hem anything under, I LOVE the frayed edge look. It goes well with animal print, I thought. I will post more party ideas as they come. :)

Rosette Drool Bibs

It doesn't get much sweeter than this Rosette Bib.  To make, I traced around a bib I already had, and cut out a bib shape of cheneille fabric and a cotton fabric.  I put right sides together and sewed around the edges.  Then I turned it right side out and hemmed my hole.  Then I sewed on some velcro.  Last, I took  a 2" x 14" strip of coordinating fabric (or the same fabric) and sewed along the edge and then gathered.  Then I shaped it into a spiral flower and hand sewed it onto the bib until secure.  These are simple to make and fun to give as gifts.  Here are some Boy Bibs with pocket and tie details...

Easy fringed edge bib

THIS BIB IS SUPER EASY TO MAKE!!!

  1. Simply use a bib you already have as a pattern to cut out 2 identical shapes.

  2. Sew it together exactly as it is, a pattern on each side. (No turning it inside out or anything)

  3. Sew a small peice of velcro to the back of one and the top of one. (The same velcro will be used no matter which side of the bib baby is wearing)

  4. Wash it (it comes out really fringed and raggy!)
Makes a perfect baby gift.
