Lemonade Stand

Just in time for the end of summer, I finished my kids' lemonade stand.   I found this $8 cart at D.I.  We added four 2x4s for side posts and a piece of paneling to go on top.  Then I spray painted everything bright sunshine yellow.  I made a curtain valance on a tension rod and added the cute sign from Target.    My kids love it.  The best part is that it has wheels so they can roll it down the sidewalk.  Perfect.

Colored Chalkboard Projects

So I just saw a post on how to make colored chalkboards.  And I ate it up.  I really wanted to make an updated FHE board and NOTES/MENU board and this is what I came up with.  The wood is a piece of paneling at Lowe's cut to be 12x24.  (They cut it for me for FREE).  So each piece of wood comes to about $1.40 (16 pieces in a $22 piece of V Groove Paneling...so get some friends to do this with you or make a bunch of Christmas Gifts).  Then I got 2 bottles of acrylic paint (2 ozs each which would be 1/2 a cup) and added 1 Tbs. of UNSANDED grout.  (Also at Lowe's by the tile...make sure it is UNSANDED).  First, I primed my piece of wood and then added the paint mixed really well with the grout (2 coats).  Then I added the Vinyl and used a cropodile to punch holes (or a drill) and added the ribbon.  So many possibilities with this!  If you are looking for vinyl for this, email me at Tamiroxie@gmail.com.  {Each Vinyl is just $8}

little guy ties

I made matching ties on a onesie and t-shirt for my boys. It was SUPER easy.
I just cut out these 2 shapes:

Then I pinned them to the shirts, and sewed them on. They do have raw edges. (which I like)

They were so fun and way cheap, I got both shirts at Hobby Lobby. I think I will also do some white shirt ones with blue ties. :)

bug party

My little boy turned FOUR in July. All he wanted was a BUG party! Here are some pictures from the party:
I made the invitation and other decor using bugs and caterpillar from free download  HERE is the link.
The cake was very simple, I just put plastic bugs and gummy worms on top and he loved it.

I found the NETS at Dollar Tree and the BUG JARS were less than a dollar each in on the canning aisle at Walmart. I punched breathing holes in  the top with my cropadile.

The party food was DIRT DESSERT with gummy worms and bugs on top.  We had a bug dig where the kids dug in the sand filled bucket for bugs to put in their jars.

We played games such as:
'bug, bug, who has the bug?' (like penny, penny)
'build a bug' (like pin the tail on the donkey)
'I have a little bug and he won't bite you' (like I have a little dog...)

The BUG party was super fun and we had a great turnout. The kids seemed happy with their bug jars and nets to take home. :)

Here are some printouts you can use!

Car organizer pockets

Using 1 yard of fabric, I made two car organizers for each of my boys. I bought a half yard of turquoise, and half yard of lime, and used both to mix and match. This fabric is a little heavier than normal, but still only $4 a yard at Joann Fabrics.
First I cut out the pieces I wanted and layed it out.

I hemmed all edges under first, then attached the outer pockets, like this one made for little toys.
When the little toys pocket and the pencil pocket was sewn on, I then sewed the bigger pockets on. The top left pocket has 2 pleets in it to make it more spacious to hold a sippy cup or bottle.
I sewed a thick wide shoelace to the top to hang around the seat, then I ended up safety pinning the sides and bottom to keep it really secure and to save leg room.
